AQUITAINE, VALLEE DU LOT & SW FRANCE ...

a superb area for a gite holiday rental, lots to do for all ages, and great weather too!

Well signposted walks, cycling, riding, fishing, tennis, golfing, canoeing and swimming are all widely available. There are several local swimming and leisure lakes, 'Plan d'eau' as well as the LOT river itself for boating etc.

Wine - it would be impossible to holiday here and not enjoy the huge range of wines available direct from the hundreds of Vineyards who offer daily tasting and visits.

Historic 'Aquitania' towns and villages, open countryside, fetes and festivals, chateaux ........

MANTETES is a 19th century farm house gite set in the grounds of an organic apple orchard. It is situated in the heart of the beautiful rolling hills of Lot et Garonne, close to the bastide towns of Villeneuve sur Lot,  Pujols, Monflanquin and Penne d’Agenais.

The river is close, the nearest safe place for bathing and canoeing being at Castelmoron or Casseneuil  about 6kms away.

There are a huge range of activities at hand including footpaths, waterways for boating, horseriding, winetasting, chateaux and festivals.

Each night during the summer months it is possible to visit and also eat at a different  farmers’ market in a typically Aquitaine 'Bastide' town close by.

The closest full shopping amenities to Cantete are situated in Ste Livrade, a lively market town 2kms away.



For your self-catering gite holiday there are 3 bedrooms, 2 with en-suite facilities - sleeping up to 6 people. We provide 2 double beds and 2 single beds.

There is also a seperate bathroom with tub.

Bed linen and towels are provided.

The house has a large family kitchen and dining/sitting room. TV, Video and stereo are available, Wi-Fi internet could be arranged, please ask us about it.

The kitchen is fully equipped with dishwasher, microwave, coffee machine, fridge/freezer, and 5 burner gas hob and oven.

The heating in the house is by oil central heating and log burners. There is a supplementary charge for heating during winter months.(25€/Wk)

There is an above ground swimming pool, (8 x 4 m), for use by guests and a sun terrace with loungers, a BBQ and table and chairs.

Swimming towels available at a small charge of 2 euros each

We have an inflatable two seater professional canoe, (it can be folded into a car for easy transport!), and there are 4 bikes, (2 folding), all available for hire (request on arrival)

Gite bookings are from Saturday to Saturday  -
check-in is at 16.00 hrs and checkout is 10.00 hrs

You will be met at the property by the owner
who will show you around and hand you the keys.

A car is advisable, AQUITAINE is big and varied - there's so much to see and do -
there is spacious on property parking.

The gite is 45 mins drive from Bergerac airport -
90 mins from Bordeaux or Toulouse.

A deposit of 25% is required on booking, with the balance plus a security deposit of 200 €, (refundable on departure after a satisfactory inspection), payable 8 weeks prior to start date.

Bookings within 8 weeks of holiday payable in full at time of booking.

Mantetes is a non-smoking property.

Cleaning is not included in rental price. It is expected that the property be left in a similar state to as found - a full range of products and equipment is available. Should a cleaning service be required the cost to the tenants will be 80€ - deductable from the deposit.

Given the current economic climate we are willing to consider staged payments, please contact us to discuss it.

We would hope that cancellations don't arise, but stuff happens ... our policy is this:

Days until arrival:

56+ days - Full booking - deposit*
29-56 days - 50 % of total cost
15-28 days - 25 % of total cost
1-14 days - 10 % of total cost
0 days - Nothing refunded

*if no replacement tenant is found the deposit will be retained, otherwise it will also be repayed

We will try to offer alternative dates where possible and would hope that you had protection with insurance if all fails. So that our arrangements are fully professional
all rentals will be bound by a signed contract.

We accept payment via paypal, which can be made using a credit card, and by bank transfer, money order or by personal cheque in France.
