NEXT COURSE - Natural Dyeing 2 (Advanced)
Following on from the great success of the Summer School this August at Quay Arts , I.O.W. UK.
Nikkie will be continuing with part 2 of this course for students to build upon what they learnt. Using techniques such as natural dyeing, indigo, rust , steaming, batik bonding and stitch.

The Living Colour on Cloth Summer School held at Quay Arts, Jubilee stores in newport IOW UK took place 20th -23rd August and had 9 enthusiastic participants. The work produced was experimental and exciting.
Rust dying, eco printing, natural dyeing, indigo ,shibori and batik were the techniques on offer . By the end of the course each student produced a number of final pieces combining at least 2 or more of the methods for colouring cloth naturally and in an eco-friendly way, with the minumum use of harsh chemicals so often used in the dyeing industry.
The result has been a small exhibiition of the fabric work shown alongside otherwork produced during the various Summer school workshops. It is currently on show in the Rope Store at the Quay Arts Centre, Newport, I.O.W.UK.
Living Colour on Cloth has been so succesful that there will be a follow up course this November . In fact this course is already sold out!
